Did you check out the Recommended Reading on the Cisco Press Web Site? It looks like they recommend reading Cisco Router Firewall Security, Chapter 14 (Campus Security Design) of Network Security Architectures, and Chapter 9 Securing the Corporate Infrastructure of Design Network Security 2nd Edition. Does that sound like some of the stuff you were going to the Cisco Docs for?

Don't forget to double check the exam blueprint for any late breaking additions. It seems like they are still tweaking the new CCSP exams.

Good Luck -- it should be easier now that you have a better idea of what to expect (unless it more of the unexpected stuff no in the Exam Cert Guide).

I'd guess the higher number to the right of the "/" in the original post was probably "the target score." Cisco doesn't publish the passing scores... and they are subject to change. Cisco will tell you what the passing score for your exam is before you start the exam.

All Cisco Associate & Professional exams are graded on a scale of 300-1000.

That's like most Cisco exams - there's Qs in there that you would only know if you worked in the field with the kit.

    Good luck for next Tuesday!

I think this is true for many different exams. There were questions on the 70-290 Server 2003 exam that were nowhere to be found in the MS Press Books. You just can't use one source.

I feel your pain Pr3d...I'm having no luck at all with SND and studying my bunz off using the Cisco Press recommended book as well as some slightly outdated CBT Nuggets.

My CCNA expires in 12 days, and I was hoping to avoid having to take CCNA again by passing a 642-level exam - ot make forward rather than lateral progress. It now looks like I'm going to let my CCNA lapse and re-attain it in a few weeks and start over on CCSP after that. Or I might take CCNA a day or two before it expires, but I don't see that it makes much difference.

It's not a good feeling, I know. Better luck next time...to both of us!

    Congratulations! icon_thumright.gif

I still break out in a cold sweat when I start to think of all the possible configurations on all the different hardware that could have been asked on the CSVPN exam. But it wasn't really bad since there is a lot of overlap between the devices -- so if you do hands on while studying, you get lots of practice.

    I PASSED SND TODAY 975/1000.

I think is by far the easiest. Not much for this, Very theoritical, some tricky questions 2 sims.

Be sure you know sdm very well, i use the SDM 2.3 official guide from cisco website.

CSVPN Left !!! On to my books again :D

What is exactly the 4011 and 4013 recognition ?

In my certmanager page i saw that i will receive a printed cert of 4011 among the others...

    Any feedback ?

    Congratulations on the SND! icon_thumright.gif

There used to be just the NSA Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Professional Letter -- if you got the CCSP, you've met the requirements for NSA recognition as an Information Security Professional.

Then it looks like they "split it in two" -- and you get the 4011 for just the SND exam... and then the 4013 when get the CCSP.

    CNSS 4011 Training Standard

    CNSS 4013 Recognition

You can also check out the Cisco Government Certifications page for some more fun reading.

Cisco Certification Manager still has me down for both the ISSP (since I got it pre-change) and the 4013 (because something tickled the system and they sent me the 4013). Then I took the SND exam to "back fill" that silly 4011 -- and adopted my "collect the entire set" signature. :D

Personally, I'm still trying to figure out why the CCSP rates all those Cisco Specialist Certificates and NSA letter when for the CCNP -- all you get is the CCNP icon_confused.gif
