Passed with an 825

WhoopieWhoopie Member Posts: 5 ■□□□□□□□□□
I passed and got an 825 on the test yesterday. Now, I am working on my Linux+

Anyone know the comparison between Linux+ and Security+?
Like if one is harder then another, and if so, which?

I would probably say the S+ was a little more difficult. Experience with the OS is the key to Linux+. icon_cool.gif

Congrats on passing the Security+. I took the old Linux+ exam and I would have to say it was easier and the questions were less obscure than Sec+. CompTIA updated the Linux+ in 2005 and from what I can tell that exam is more difficult so it is hard to say now, although I am fairly sure the questions are less obscure for the new L+ exam than the Security+.

I have been using Linux as a primary desktop for about 2+ years now, and also currently run my own Linux web server so I should have an edge. =P

    And thanks for the congrats.

Congratulations on the pass, and good luck on Linux+. If you're using Linux regularly, then you should be able to pass the exam with little trouble. I'd say your best bet would be to hit up a bookstore, check out the Linux+ books, and see which one makes the most sense to you.

Thanks everyone! And also, I see that Network+ is suggested as a good Certification before Security+ and Linux+. I already got my Security+, but should I go ahead and get my Network+ and then the Linux+?

The Network+ seems like it won't be hard, but I could be wrong. Also, you only need a score of 554 out of 900.

Why not? You have your Security+ you should be able to breeze through the objectives.

+1 on transcender! MY favorite practice exam software!!!

If youre unsure about net+, here was my situation with it: Ive been involved in networking in some form or fashion in the past 4 years. With minimal studying, I passed net+ without a problem few months ago. If I studied more, I could have most likely got a much higher score. I say you could go for net+ easily.
