I thought Windows Server 2008 was supposed to be available in the fall? I guess MS pushed the date back again.

Better pushed back and be correct than released to early and have more bugs/less features. Look at Exchange 2007. It was released way too early and lacks so many features that are being added in SP1.

So I guess everyone saying Server 2008 and Vista SP1 launching together were wrong...?
    IT guy since 12/00

Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
    Working on: RHCE/Ansible
Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands...

No they're still right, both should ship in November/December, just general availability of Server 2008 won't be until the 27th of February similar to the launch of Vista. Vista RTM was launched 2 months before Retail launch.

    Official confirmation

Just checking when the MCTS:Vista 70-620 exam was launched, it was 3 weeks before Retail launch. So presumably they will do the same thing with the Server exams when Server 2008 is RTM launched in November/December, the exams will be launched a few weeks before the Retail launch of Server 2008.

Now they're saying the "launch" for sql will be in February, but it will not be released to manufacturing until later in the year:
