CCNA or MCA

HI frnds....
I have completed BCA.I want to be a network administrator.Shall I go for MCA or will do CCNA and other Networking courses??

What do you mean by MCA? Are you referring to the Microsoft Certified Architect, which is very high level certification, or are you referring to something else?

I was thinking the same thing. If you want the MCA go the MCSA\MCSE route. If you wanna get your hands in the routers and switches go the Cisco route.

Because he mentioned BCA and it seems that the MCA he is referring to is related, I think he means something other then the Microsoft certs. Maybe like a bachelors degree vs a masters degree, but I have no idea.

Ok Guys......

Actually I want to persue a Masters degree in networking field.MCA is basically for software so I m lil confused n want ur views.
Does CISCO or Microsoft provide any course or combination of courses equivalent to masters degree??
Plz Sugest something........

Nothing can really compare to a masters degree from an accredited college or university. there is a big difference in college and certifications. Although i had an instructor from school that was teaching and tasking his masters at a different school. a CCNP was a prerequisite for the MIT(masters of IT) final project or thesis.

As far as educational equivilancy goes, there isnt really much common ground with the vedor specific qualifications, in my experiance anyway although im not an authority!

. to give a rough parallel, the Open University in the UK do the CCNA as a module towards a dergree in IT, the degree being awarded on a points basis where-by you accumulate points for OU courses. The CCNA is worth 30 points to a degree that requires 360 points total. I dont know how it works in the US but i would assume there are similar schemes?

so that considered i suppose CCIE would be getting on for degree level in one qualification, maybe?
