Cisco 2900 vs Cisco 2950
cisco_trooper
I am looking to add two switches to my home lab. Obviously the 2950 is the recommended switch, but I'm left wondering if there is really that much difference between the 2900 and the 2950? Anyone know where I can get 2950s for el-cheepo? Ebay is a little bit higher than I was expecting.

What kind of prices are you seeing for the 2950? You should be prepared to pay at least 150 + shipping for the 2950.

You will see the prices of the 2950 dropping once the new CCNA hits, it is based on the 2960's. You can use the 2950 but you'll need an image that can do RSTP and MST, as well as crypto, for SSH.
