VERITAS BACKUP FOR SBS2003

hi,
does anyone know if a backup created in sbs2003 can be restored onto a 2003 server standard system using veritas backup executive? (exchange not used)

im looking to implement a disaster recovery plan and need some advice.

    You might be able to make it work with the standard Windows CD, but you could have some issues and will want to test it in advance. For the best results use an SBS cd.

    If you're looking to restore the entire operating system, then no. If you just want to restore your data to a different box, then you can restore it to whichever Windows server platform you like as long as you have the remote agent installed on the other server.

    Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
    Working on: RHCE/Ansible
    Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands...

    im new to IT, what is the remote agent and how does it work?

    The remote agent in Backup Exec is the client that you install on each server you want to back up from your main backup server.

    If you have the Backup Exec CD, the administrator's guide should cover it all.
