VPN lab

VPN and tunneling(SSH?) is one of my weaknesses and every job I apply for seems to want me to know how to use it. I'd like to put some labs together in VMware and figure it out, but does anyone have a suggestion for building one?

You can do VPN configurations in many different ways and on different hardware, you could use windows server 2000/2003 with routing and remote access for IPSec and PPTP tunnels, or Cisco routers and security appliances (ASA/PIX) for the same. All depends on what hardware your're looking to use. You menioned SSH, are you sure they weren't asking about SSL?

Check the CCSP forums for some posts a few months back on using PEMU and VMware to run virtual PIX's.
We responded to the Year 2000 issue with "Y2K" solutions...isn't this the kind of thinking that got us into trouble in the first place?
