IDE cable

I noticed that among all of the cable lengths I have read about, not one mention of the IDE cables max. length. Does any one know what it is? I think it is 18" but I'm not sure.

i always believed it was 18" myself, but a quick goole search shows 2' cables are available.

I can't remember where I read it, but I do believe that ATA66/ATA100 are able to be slightly longer than std IDE cables. Because we buy them pre-made rather than make them up ourselves it is not really a big issue anyway
