How good is McGraw Hill's book?

I went to a bookshop to buy "Information security - Practices and principles" by Mark Merkow and got pretty excited by seeing many books that I never thought I could even find. Anyway, I picked this book. Can anyone tell me how good this book is?

'm currently preparing for MS 70-291 and then I'll be going for security+

I haven't read this book but you can usually get a good idea of how good a book is by reading the reviews. When I looked there were 20, most positive but a couple of bad reviews.

The Syngress book was awesome. I think I had the first edition, but this one will likely be just as good. Many others have recommended Syngress as well.
