Group Policy Objects - Application Remotely

I'm trying to figure how are system administrator is applying the default domain policy to remote users. When I run a gpresult, I'm seeing it applied during login, but I have no type of internet connection?

    It will keep the settings last applied. So if they were on the LAN once, then someone takes it home, a GPResult will still show that certain settings were applied from the Default Domain Policy. Check your event logs and you'll probably see errors indicating it can't contact a DC to obtain the lastest GP.
