Actually that's the official release announcement. I have heard they always do something wacky for new releses. This is the first one I've seen though.

Then its the result of marketing people trying to justify their continued employment. RedHat has to do something to pull people's eyes away from the latest release of Ubuntu. And you certainly can't go wrong with "Thriller."
