Problems with broadband access?

Does having your home lab hooked up to your computer affect your broadband connection? Mine's been dropping out now and again since yesterday (when i first connected up a 2501 via a USB console cable).

    It shouldn't cause any issues to be consoled into your router. Most likely unrealted unless its a performance issue.

    You might want to disable your firewall(s) when doing router work and see if it makes a difference.

    A firewall shouldn't make a difference if he is consoled into the router.

    Thanks guys - thought it best to check given the problems coincided with me setting up the 2500s. I've just reorganised all the cabling. Hopefully it's just down to one of the connectors or my ISP.

    You might want to power-cycle your dsl/cable modem and any other consumer-grade switches or hubs on your network. Sometimes that stuff gets flaky, and it might just be coincidental. My Motorola cable modem needs that done every once in awhile.
