Problem with Packet tracer 4.11

Hi!
I am facing a problem with packet tracer 4.11.I am not able to use interface command.It gives the following error:

Router(config)#int s0/1 multipoint
%Invalid interface type and number

Any clue where the fault is?

Try using a subinterface like s0/1.1.

I know on packet tracer 4.1 you couldn't do subinterfaces for a serial connection, I dont know if they changed it for 4.11. Hopefully they did. Also check to make sure thats the interface you want. I know on a lot of packet tracer modules you add to the routers they always dont end up in a 0 spot.

Which model networking device are you trying to configure?

I tried it with 2600 series,1841,2811....it did not work with any of these.

A good tip is to just use a generic switch or router and then add the modules you want. I can never seem to find any modules with more than one or two ports for anything. Also to enter interface configuration mode it would be like router(config)#interface fastethernet 1/0 ect..

Just do a show interface to see what interfaces you have if your not sure.

In the result of "show interfaces" command ....it is not showing any serial port...can I add it and how?

I don't have access to the software right now but i belive you double click the router and click the physical tab and turn the router or switch off then click and drag what ever module you need and add them. then turn it back on.

Ahhh, packet tracer...Was pretty useful for getting through the CCNA, but now that I'm doing CCNP it's useless. =\
