CNAP and 640-802

I passed my CCNA in 2005 having completed Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP) course in 2004. Current CNAP version that is still available to me is 3.1.1 (from those times), as I understand it does not cover everything for 640-802, but is it still ok to use it at least for some topics ? Or it's simply completely incompatible ?

As a Cisco Network Academy Alumni, you should also have access to the latest versions of the courses you took. I just checked recently and have access to the new Discovery/OtherNewVersion courseware.

The information in the old courseware is "still good" -- it's just not relevant for the approximately 25% "new stuff."

Thanks for the reply mike, I would like to ask though, in your opinion, is it reasonable to use this 3.1.1 current version to prepare for the new CCNA or not ?

From comparing an 802 study guid (The Lammle book) to my 3.1.1 material, there is differences worth noting.

802 covers wireless, security, a litle voice and IPv6. ISDN is no longer required, I don't know what else is different, but I know that much.

Check out this Is the 640-801 that much different to the 640-802 thread for the differences.....

But compare the 640-802 Exam Blueprint to the old 640-802 Exam Blueprint (and the old Academy Courseware) to be sure.

If you just study/review the old courseware without learning some of the "new stuff" and getting some hands on practice (like with SDM), you may be in for a surprise. Remember a lot of the old 640-607 CCNAs got surprised when they went to recertify on the ICND exam..... better safe than sorry.

I took Cisco academy classes several years ago. I completed all four. Am I suppose to have access to learning materials?

I tried to get my account information, but it tells me that my emails aren't valid. I don't recall what my account was or if it has been deleted.

I've actually received my cisco study guide for new ICND1 hours ago, went through page by page and must say I will have to give up an idea to use current academy material because bits of a new stuff are simply present nearly in every topic. Although it's funny, I've also read on a cisco site that academies will still be running current version 3.1 and no bridging course will be provided, later on cisco promises figure something out.

KGhaleon, yes you do, and some other stuff as well. First of all make sure you are entering your login details into current academy login page (not general cisco login). Alternatively contact their support team.
