Flickering SCreen..
Hi,
A user has a 19" screen (HP L1906) and a intel graphics controller (Intel 82865G)
After a few hours of use the user says that the screen is flickering, i have had a look at it does seem to be very faint - however annoying for the user.
I have tried turning down the Hardware acceleration which helped for this morning but now it is back to doing it again.
I wondered if anyone else had experienced this before? Monitor has been on the machine for a few months and never had problems before..

Test the monitor on a different machine and test the machine with a different monitor. Make sure to swap the video cables as well just in case. Also make sure that you're using the optimal resolution for that monitor.Jumping on the IT blogging band wagon -- http://www.jefferyland.com/ -

Have put another monitor on there at the moment but to be honest forgot to change VGA cables. Think the screen is being ran at some huge resolution as the user is blind..

It's an LCD though (if I looked up the right monitor) so the refresh rate shouldn't be affecting anything.Jumping on the IT blogging band wagon -- http://www.jefferyland.com/

LCD monitors have a native refresh rate and resolution that they work best in, if you set it differently they will often look fuzzy. This is one of the problems I have with the LCD monitors at my school (mostly 17-19"). I am not sure if this is the case of all LCD monitors but it may be something to look into.The only easy day was yesterday! -
