When you take the 70-620 exam, do you get the cert MCTS after that one exam? How long is the cert good for and does it have to be renewed if at all?

Well it looks like you have no certifications listed. If you take the vista 620 exam and its your first certification it only gives you MCP status.

Look at microsoft site for certifications to see whats required for the cert in question

620 is an MCTS exam; you will be an MCTS after passing that exam.

MCPs are earned for the older exams: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcp/requirements.mspx

    These are the MCTSs: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcts/default.mspx

MCITPs need to be renewed, but only after significant changes have occurred (i.e. major service pack, new software release). MS estimates this at around three years, but there is no specific time period, and it will likely vary from product to product. MCTSs lose value with the product, and do not need to be renewed (i.e. Vista will lose value once the next client OS comes out).

Where did you see that? They do not list the new exams on the MCP page (see my link above).

edit: I forgot there are a couple of MCTS exams mixed in with some of those tracks. I'm curious to see how they handle that as they do not specifically list the MCTS/MCTIP exams on that page.

I though any ms exam gave you mcp status. Guess i was wrong. So just the MCTS and then i get a credit towards MCSE and MCSA
