Ok at the moment at home I have a belkin router/modem it's not bad but it does allow me to configure static routes so if I have more than 1 subnet the second subnet cannot access the internet because the belkin router doesn't know where to forward the return traffic.
I've been looking at a couple of routers from the linksys site:

These are the two I am concidering as I also have a vista computer that will act as a VPN server.
Linksys RVL200 - 4-Port SSL/IPSec VPN Router
Linksys RVS4000 - 4-Port Gigabit Router with VPN
My question, I have an ADSL2 connection so to use these routers I will need a ADSL2 modem, will the modem create the same problem as I am having with my current router or will it simply allow the router to connect to my internet?
