Stats on a Switchport

guys,

Just curious to know if there is a way I can check for any switchport errors on a 6509 switch for errors that happened in the past. I have a list of Dates and the server team is trying to find out if we saw any errors on the switcport the same time that thier server also recorded errors in thier log.

Thanks

What type of errors? You can try 'show logging' but that will only give you the latest ones, other than that you would need to enable snmp or syslog and configure it for future errors that may occur.

All you can do is look at the log, hopefully your logfile is configured large enough so you can go back to whenever the issue occured. This is where a syslog server comes in handy. Also this why ntp is used.Dont foregt about daylight saving differences etc.
Networking, sometimes i love it, mostly i hate it.Its all about the $$$$
