Getting MCSE/MCSA Security without doing anything

I found this interesting and thought I'd share...
I'm an MCSE 2000/2003: Messaging, and I've done some exams related to the security track but didn't actively seek it. For example, I passed the Security Design exam when I was working for my MCSE 2000, and I'm certified in both ISA 2004 and ISA 2006.
I recently passed my 70-236 Exchange 2007 exam a few days ago, so I checked today to see if it was on my transcript, and sure enough it was, but I was surprised to see a few new certifications on my transcript: MCSE 2000: Security, MCSA 2000: Security, and MCSA 2003: Security. Interestingly enough, my transcript indicated I achieved those at the end of last week.
I thought for sure at first this was a goof. I didn't even take any exams last week, and the only exam I've taken in the last few months was this Exchange 2007 exam, and ISA 2006 back in January.
While trying to figure out if I should contact Microsoft to see if something was wrong, I decided to see if maybe they changed the requirements for these certifications. Sure enough, ISA 2006 was added to the list of Security exams you could choose from to meet the Security specialization certifications. Since I passed Designing Security for a Windows 2000 network, and passed two of the exams on the list (ISA 2004 and 2006), I gained MCSE 2000: Security. I've also met the requirements of MCSA 2000 and 2003, so I simply needed to pass two of the security exams on the list, which now included ISA 2004 and ISA 2006.
However, I still need to pass 70-298, the security design exam, in order to get MCSE 2003: Security should I desire.
Anyway, so just as an FYI, ISA 2006 is now added as acceptable electives for the Security specializations for the MCSE and MCSA tracks.

HP, I think it's pretty sweet that you inadvertently picked up a few new designations, but I have to admit, I'm kind of concerned about your mental state. The short answer is nutrigrain bars and lots of delicious alcohol.
LOL, seriously, I thought I remembered that MCSA 2003 requiring 70-299, not it being an elective. I didn't know they added 70-351 as an elective for MCSE/MCSA 2000 tracks, thought it was just 2003.Good luck to all! -

Something very similar happened to me, I achieved my MCSA and I was working towards the MCSE, half way there I realised that I got my MCSA: M. Sweet, ha?

I have a better one.
I was a MCSE and also had done the Small business specialist (70-282). I wanted to upgrade to MCSE:Security.
Anyway after passing 2 additional exams when I went to look at my transcript all of a sudden I am also a MCSA and a MCSA:Security ;0
