Is there a way to check flash in ROMMON?
flipmad
I only have 8MB flash. I found some more flash but it doesnt say how much memory. So for the 1st one I found i installed it and did a tftpdnld and installed an ios to find out it was only 8MB also.
I got another that is labeled 16MB flash, but i went through the tftpdnld and tried loading an IOS and i am getting "insufficient flash to load image" but it is only a 8MB bin file.
Is there any way to detect the flash through ROMMON? Only command I can find is meminfo, but that only shows the RAM.

it may be a bad flash, i rebooted again and I am getting messages
unknown device probably not formatted
unknown flash device
cannot open "flash"
UNLESS, the flash already has a ISO associated and it cant boot this IOS.
Is that possible??
Netwurk
Run the command "dir flash:" or "show flash"
You should see something like "16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)" at the end of the output.
16384K=16MB, so if you think you have 16MB then that's close to what you should see.
If a list of files is shown, then you may need to delete some or all of them if you want to free up space.
And of course, make sure you have the right flash for the right hardware.

I ran the dir flash: and it indicated it is not detecting the flash. (NOT FORMATTED device "flash" has size of zero, open: read error"
Probably it is not for this hardware. But it actually came of of a production 2611XM. (Which got dropped by UPS)
