How much VOIP does ONT exam have?

in CCNP
hey voice gurus..i noticed the ONT exam has all VOIP topics, what do I need
CCVP exams for ? What does ONT only cover basics????

    unless the exam changed since I took it, there wasn't much voice on it if any. Focus was mainly qos and wireless.

    I usually hang out on 224.0.0.10 (FF02::A) and 224.0.0.5 (FF02::5) when I'm in a non-proprietary mood.

    The CBT Nuggets series for the ONT is 5/22 VOIP. That's nearly 1/4. They're usually pretty close to the actual exam's percentage so I'd go with that.

    Besides, you have to fundamentally understand how VOIP works to understand its needs and how QoS can be used to meet them. QoS in the sense of the CCNP is more targeted at facilitating VOIP traffic hence emphasis on technologies like autoQoS.

    Even BCMSN has a fair amount of VOIP coverage in the course material. The CCNP is becoming more like a generalist certification with the emphasis on R&S.

    Jeremy is pretty knowledgable and entertaining but does miss some of the material that Cisco expects you to know. As always don't rely on just one resource. icon_wink.gif
