Wide SCSI Id Priority
In your tech notes, you state that on Wide SCSCI "The lowest ID is 0 (often preset on host adapter to be used for bootable hard disk drive.) and the highest is 7 or 15 (depending on the flavor".
That surely is incorrect. According to the priority list, Id 8 has to be the lowest priority on a Wide SCSI, and Id 7 is always top priority, whether you're using Wide or Narrow SCSI.

More important, I'm talking about ID's in the first part... lowest ID is 0... this is always correct for SCSI and WIDE SCSI. That doesn't mean that the lowest ID also has the lowest priority...
Like you said, 7 is given the highest priority and is to the HBA.
Wide represents 16 bits but can also support 16 devices.
