I used 2 books, The Sybex and Exam Cram and found them both to be very helpful. I would also recommend, if you don't have money to buy equipment, using some sort of simulation program so you can get practice at configuring the routers/switches. I personally used the CCNA Virtual Lab Gold Edition. There are better products out there, but I think that product is enough to get a basic understanding of the CCNA configuration requirements.Shoot for the moon. First, go here http://tools.cisco.com/RPF/register/register.do and set up an online account with Cisco. After you get the account set up, you can go to http://forums.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/PrepCenter?page=examstudy
where you will have access to several learning tools that Cisco provides for free.
You can go to http://www.techexams.net/topsites/
Techexams topsites list and probably find several resources. Number 1 on the list is a good start.
It takes patience to study for Cisco exams.
Cisco has many pages on the Internet about their devices. You need to know the hardware and they provide a lot of knowledge.
