Wide SCSI Id Priority
In your tech notes, you state that on Wide SCSCI "The lowest ID is 0 (often preset on host adapter to be used for bootable hard disk drive.) and the highest is 7 or 15 (depending on the flavor".
That surely is incorrect. According to the priority list, Id 8 has to be the lowest priority on a Wide SCSI, and Id 7 is always top priority, whether you're using Wide or Narrow SCSI.

You need to read a little more carefully:
It doesn't say Wide SCSI in that part yet... so I don't state that on Wide SCSI in particular.you state that on Wide SCSCI
More important, I'm talking about ID's in the first part... lowest ID is 0... this is always correct for SCSI and WIDE SCSI. That doesn't mean that the lowest ID also has the lowest priority... -

a wide SCSI goes like this 6,5,4,3,2,1,0 15, 14,13,12,11,10,9,8.
Like you said, 7 is given the highest priority and is to the HBA.
Wide represents 16 bits but can also support 16 devices.There There, Its okay to feel GUILTY...........There is no SIN in PLEASURE!
