56 ports... mixed 10 Gig-E and FCoE... schwing!

The only thing I don't know if pricing. Anyone know if these things cost as much as my house?

Apparently, the starting price for the Nexus 5020 is only around $36,000. Pick one up for me, while you're at it.

that's probably $36000 for just the chassis, and maybe power supplies if you're lucky. Then you will need Sup modules, line cards, the works...probably looking around 200K for a usable switch. More than my house!

Nah, the 5000-series is a rack-mount switch. Given, it's modular, just like a lot of Cisco's routers, but it's the "cheap" version. The 7000-series, THAT's where we're getting into making choices between buying a switch or sending our kids to college.

Although, I have to admit, I am intrigued by the NX-OS. (Great, another thing to learn. . . and just when we had finally shaken off the CatOS and it looked like Cisco was going with the regular ol' IOS across the board.)
