IDE Drive Designation

How are the drive values designated when you have something like the following

How would the drive letters be assigned for the following IDE controllers?
My book sort of explains it but I just want clarification

First Controller has a hard drive with:
- Primary Partition (set as active partition)
- Extended Partition (with the following partitions defined)
* Partition One
* Partition Two
* Partition Three
* Partition Four

Secondary Controller has a hard drive with:
- Primary Partition
- Extended Partition (with the following partitions defined)
* Partition One
* Partition Two
* Partition Three
* Partition Four

    I don't understand this question.
    Tech Support Tip #2: When the support agent says "Click...", wait for the rest of the sentence.

    Hot Tip #3: Be sure to turn it on before calling technical support.

    I'm just wondering how the letters for the drives would be dispersed.
    For example, I know that the Primary Partition for the first controller is active and therefore is assigned 'C' for its drive name.

    Then I think that the primary partition for the secondary controller is assigned 'D'

    Then, I believe that the first partition defined in the extended partition from the first controller gets assigned 'E'.

    From here I'm not sure how the assignments progress. Do the rest of the partitions from the first controllers extended partition get letters assigned before those of the extended partition on the secondary?

    So, would the drive letters be as follows

    First Controller has a hard drive with:
    (C: ) - Primary Partition (set as active partition)
    - Extended Partition for First Controller(with the following partitions defined)
    (E: ) * Partition One
    (F: )* Partition Two
    (G: )* Partition Three
    (H: )* Partition Four

    Secondary Controller has a hard drive with:
    (D: )- Primary Partition
    - Extended Partition for Second Controller(with the following partitions defined)
    (I: )* Partition One
    (J: )* Partition Two
    (K: )* Partition Three
    (L: )* Partition Four

    That sounds right. After it's all done, you can manually change drive letter assignments.

    I think he means which drive letters will be assigned to his specific configuration.
    Guess I picked the wrong time to graduate. :|
