How long did you study for 70-620?

jryantechjryantech Member Posts: 623
I'm reading the MS Pressbook, I have Vista Business on my Virtual Machine and doing 70-620 E-Learnings from Microsoft (Free because of school :D )

And I was wondering if I should schedule my exam to push me to get this done.

What sounds reasonable? August 8th, August 15th or August 20th
(Pretend your just starting to study and have 6 hours a week to study)

If you read for 6hours you should be able to read about 100 pages.Would recomend that you also do some exercises. If you don't have Vista installed, install it now.You have to use it to learn it.

As jayman47 said make sure you install Vista and practice. Go through all the exercises in the book and just play around with different options. Also, read the tech notes from this website and don't forget to take the practice tests that are included with the book. If you are not sure about a specific topic research it or just ask here.

I should have noted that I do have Windows Vista Business on my Virtual Machine. :D

    I'll edit that.

Ok.There are a few features that you do not have then. The test is with regard to the ultimate edition. Not much difference but i would look into it if i were you.

You can install Ultimate version and you can use it for 30 days. I believe 70-620 book walkes you through upgrading to Ultimate anyway. You should not have any problems.

I took the 620 not to long ago and studied for about a month doing 30 minutes a day or so. I thought this exam was going to be easy since i used Vista since it was released. Oh boy was i wrong on this one.

I took the exam on my first try just to see how i would do and failed with a 583 i believe. Never really looked over the book and used my second shot and failed with the same score again. I then studied a little every few days and failed again with a 683.

So it took me 4 tried to pass this exam and finally passed it with a 800 something at the end.
Personally the reason why it took me 4 tried is that i barely studied for this exam even after i failed. I did the Network+ in a month and passed first try and would say that a month of studying should be enough for you.
