RHCT ! Update: Passed!

I'm on the track for RHCT by the end of October. I ended up getting the RH133 class for RHCT for free, so I'm gonna hit that up instead of RHCE this year.

Anybody else studying for RHCT or already have the certification? Would be nice to start a small discussion about it.

There's a number of us going for the RHCE here. We'll end up with the RHCT along the way since you have to pass the RHCT qualifications as well as the RHCE qualifications. I'm looking forward to this test as it'll be really fun! Good job on scoring that free RH133 class! :)

Yeah, but at that point, I had decided not to go for RHCT/E this year. I'll find it and sign up!

Sorry, Mishra! I never noticed your post.

I started the RH133 class this week and will be taking the RHCT exam on Friday! All the while I'm taking exams at school, so I really don't have time to enjoy the class, which sucks. =(

The class is going well so far and seems to go really well with the Jang RHCE book.

    Took the exam today.

Having worked with RHEL for 1.5 years on network infrastructure services, the RHCT exam was still hard for me! I won't know if I passed for a few more days, but man, it was rough!

I can't say anything about the exam, obviously, but if you study the Jang book for RHCE and do all the RHCT topics, then take the rh133 course, you'll be well-prepared.

I'll post when I found out if I passed!

Congrats! Isn't the RHCT half of the RHCE lab exam?

Yes and no .. when you attend the RHCE lab and only pass x amount in a certain time you will only receive the RHCT certification ...

Yeah. You linked that before and thats where I was under the impression that the RHCT is a part of the RHCE. So if I was going to take my RHCT then I would be taking the first part of the RHCE.

Ok, gotchya. I wonder how they handle that if you're already an RHCT. Do you just skip the first part of the exam, or do you still have to go through it? Have you looked into this at all, darkerosxx?

Yeah, when you take the RHCE course/exam, nothing changes based on any previous certifications, so you take the same exam as everyone else. However, you can't lose your RHCT if you fail the exam completely.

Oh, that link is still representative of the experience. =)

Thats a good idea, plus it'd be kinda hard to just jump into the upper level objectives without starting from the beginning.
