    Credit toward certification
When you pass Exam 70-400: TS: Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007, Configuring, you complete the requirements for the following certification:

    • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): System Center Operations Manager 2007, Configuration

Yes, although they were planning on doing a MCITP: System Center or something in the future but they seem to have put it on hold for now.

What decent resources/books is advisable for this? I'll check if it's available through Transcenders as well...

There are exactly zero books dedicated to the exam.

Everyone I know says this is the book to have for SCOM though: http://www.amazon.com/System-Center-Operations-Manager-Unleashed/dp/0672329557/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1219951705&sr=8-1

This looks like something I could easily pass. Anymore details?

Not really they're pretty scarce. If you have experience with SCOM, you could always use the Second Shot offer and do a "practice test" to see what you need to work on (if anything). ;)

Well I have 70-271 scheduled for Saturday, after I pass that exam and 70-272 maybe I'll take a shot at it. icon_lol.gif

I would say wrap up MCSA/MCSE 1st, this monitoring management I believe is for Enterprise solutions like Windows Server/Exchange etc., now if you like to do well with this there is a monitoring snap-ins under MMC, which you should familiarize I believe it will be beneficial once you take SCOM 07 ;)

just my 2 cents, I'm not familiar with your background, you could be a MOM guru then this will be easy.
