Hello all and BCMSN question

Just wanted to say hello to everyone, as I am a new member to this forum. I have been reading anonymously for several months now and have noticed that the members here seem to be helpful to one another and eager to see their fellow cert-seekers attain their goals. Because of that, I am happy to join this forum.

On to the question I have. I have passed the BSCI and am getting ready to take the BCMSN. I am using the Cisco Press Authorized Self-Study Guide (Exam 642-812) and notice that some material in this book does not seem to be mentioned on the exam blueprint. This book contains a QoS chapter that i understand to be more information than is necessary for the exam. It also contains a chapter on Multicast, which is BSCI material now. The exam blueprint doesn't specifically mention material on things like Route Processor Redundancy and Stateful Switchover, but these topics are covered in the book in the same chapter as HSRP, VRRP, and GLBP. Are these topics (RPR and SSO) things i should worry about, or just stick to HSRP, etc... for my studies? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

To your question, the BCMSN exam blue print states:

Nothing about SSO, but the last line leaves it open for anything! I nor anyone else who has taken the exam can tell you if there were related questions.

As you can see there is a bit to learn about QoS on the BCMSN, but you might as well get a head start for ONT!

Thanks for the reply. I know that no one can "verify" that SSO is or is not on the exam as it would violate that person's NDA. The exam blueprint is useful, but does leave a lot open-ended. Oh well, i guess i will just study it all. Probably good to learn anyway.
