No written resources? You should consider getting the MS Press book.

Make sure you take the second shot voucher so just in case you fail you can then read the MS Press book to be sure and then take the exam again. I hope you do pass though icon_wink.gif

Although there will be a lot of reading required for your future certs, but if you have the experience then it shouldnt be all hard.

How have you used written resources in the past?

Take a look at these statistics:

    People remember…
    – 10% of what they read
    – 20% of what they hear
    – 30% of what they see (e.g. videos)
    – 50% of what they hear & see
    – 70% of what they say & write
    – 90% of what they say & do

No one retains a lot from reading. That's why people take notes and review. It sounds like you haven't developed those skills yet. I'm all about hands-on work (and you can see why it's extremely beneficial). However, there is a lot of theory, background information, etc. that you just won't come across any other way. You're making things much more difficult than they need to be and will ultimately be limiting yourself.

Just something to think about. You might want to check out this thread as well: http://www.techexams.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30117

So glad to hear you say that. I am using multiple deliver methods of the material covering the 70-290 objectives. I am enrolled in 'New Horizons Computer Learning Center' and I am on the MCSA track. I have earned my CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications. The whole program here cost $6000. I know what you thinking, they are offering so much value. Great place to learn and take my time with VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE INSTRUCTORS that i can pick there brain any time I'm in what they call 'Mentored Learning Lab'. I'm preparing for 70-290 right now.
