Pick the two hardest...

I've got 293, 294, 298, & 299 left for my MCSE:S. Since Transcender is having their 40% off sale, I think I'm going to try them, but I can only afford two at the moment. Of these four tests, which two tests would you buy?

Has anyone used both the 298 & 299 Transcenders? The 298 has 104 questions and the 299 has 214. Since the exams overlap a great deal, does that mean that the 299 Transcender includes a lot of the questions from the 298?

I have. 291, 293, and 299 will cover all the content from 298. However, you might want to give the 298 a shot anyway, so you don't get blindsided by the different format. It's completely different than the other exams, and it would probably be beneficial for you to develop some strategy for dealing with that format. If you're not intimidated by the alternate format, 298 would probably be the one to skip. That was the only one I didn't go through thoroughly.

I haven't done the 299 yet but the 293 and 294 were both more difficult than the 298 in my opinion. The 298 just has a weird format that will make you nervous until you actually take the test. Then you'll realize it is a pushover. So I would go with the 293 & 294.

Out of the four, I would say 299 and 293 was the toughest. If I remember correctly, the 293 was more like an extension to the Beast 291 (is it still called that?) and the 299 was all security. I found the 294 really easy as it was more Active Directory and 298 wasn't too bad as a lot of the questions can be answered without reading the scenarios and it had a lot of overlap from all of the other exams. I studied for both 299 and 298, but opted to take the 298 first as some suggested on TE and it wasn't bad at all.

On those four I would have to say 293 would be 1 & I'm not quite sure of the other one to chose, I found the 294 & 298 exams realtive easy, I've heard that the 299 is alot of the same as the 298 exam.

So its a toss up of which one after 293.

Well, I ultimately decided to get the 293 and 299. Thanks to everyone for their help.

My reasoning was that 293 came with 188 questions and 299 came with 214, whereas 294 & 298 only have 105 & 104. I'm not that worried about the exam format for 298, plus I'll have access to the Measureup practice exams if I need to get a feel for the format.
