Phone Interview

So I had a phone interview today with a pretty sounding young lady who talked... 90% of the time... Seriously after I gave an answer to an HR question she would just go on and on about the company and the job I would be doing and the what was around the location and blah blah blah.

I must have talked for 4-5 minutes in the entire 44 minute call. icon_lol.gif

I suppose I listened well because I got a face-to-face interview Thursday...

Anyone experience something like this before?

If they are constantly trying to convince you they're a good company to work for it means they have a high turnover rate and are desperate for people. Not a company I'd want to work for.

Yea, but it usually costs me $3.99/minute. icon_redface.gif

Glad you got off to a good start. Good luck and keep us posted!

Maybe, I'd wait until the interview, she may also be inexperienced at conducting interviews and excited about working for the company and the job opening. You might want to start the in person off by thanking them for Tuesday's phone call and suggesting that you had some questions that came out of what she had to say about the company that you were hoping to ask - or something to that effect.

Well it is for an Intership and she seemed pretty young and very spunky.

So it being an Intership really rules out the entire "turnover rate".

Sometimes the people who do that stuff really aren't all that qualified. Once you get into an actual interview you'll get the real feel for how the place is.

I love it when female recruiters are hot sounding, makes up for their complete lack of resume reading ability...

I've had some phone interviews like this, but I wouldn't really call them interviews. It was mostly telling them a little bit about myself and why I was looking for a new job, tech skills, etc. The majority of the time was the interviewer telling me about the company, the I.T. department, what they are looking for, work life, etc., etc. It always pretty much ended with them asking if I was still interested, then an interview setup for face to face.
