Answer:10.
A, B, C, D. All of the above configurations can be joined to a domain. Note that if a machine is a member of another domain, it must first be removed from that domain before it can be joined to another one. Join it to a workgroup to remove it from the old domain, then join it to the new domain.

Oh so we are now answering questions and basing our answers on a possible configuration change in the scenario. Well I think I could score 1000s on Microsoft exams if I could modify the answer to suit the question.

Sybex makes a well worded book but they can't create of a practice question if they life depended on it.

In Exercise 3.2, you will use the Active Directory Installation Wizard to create a new domain tree to add to a forest. In order to add a new domain to an existing forest, you must already have at least one other domain. This domain serves as the root domain for the entire forest. Keep in mind that the entire forest structure is destroyed if the original root domain is ever entirely removed. Therefore, you should have at least two domain controllers in the Active Directory root domain. Such a setup provides additional protection for the entire forest in case one of the domain controllers fails. In order to complete this exercise, you must have already installed another domain controller that serves as the root domain for a forest, and you must use a server in the domain that is not a domain controller.
Exercise 3.2: Creating a New Domain Tree in the Forest

1. Open the Active Directory Installation Wizard by clicking Start Ø Run, and typing dcpromo. Click Next to begin the wizard, and then click Next again to continue past the Operating System Compatibility screen.
2. On the Domain Controller Type page, select Domain Controller For A New Domain. Click Next.

3. On the Create New Domain page, choose Domain In A New Forest. Click Next.

This is a pretty large error... They should be clicking "Domain tree in an exsisting forest".

Wow. It doesn't look like they even list any errata for it: http://www.sybex.com/WileyCDA/SybexTitle/MCSE-Windows-Server-2003-Active-Directory-Planning-Implementation-and-Maintenance-Study-Guide-Exam-70-294-2nd-Edition.productCd-0782144519,navId-290631,pageCd-errata.html (unless I'm missing it). That's odd.

70-294 is a pretty broad exam. Anything that can be done with group policy is fair game, so you may get questions that seem outside of the intended scope.

And does anything cover asking you when you should use Disk Quotas? lol That is completely outside the scope and would seem goofy. Maybe if they said you needed to distribute a quota through GPO.

Alright I'm just going to stop reading the Sybex book (I've been trying to read the Sybex book at work and Microsoft at home).

It is lacking so much information as I've ALWAYS experienced with Sybex books. (I failed my CCNA in 2005 because I read only the Sybex book and understood it front to back) They don't even go into secure identifiers (SID, GUIDs).

I'll just stick to technet and MSPress.

I got a Transcender question on this with the idea that you needed to keep the size of redirected My Document folders down. Had to apply the GPO to the File Server's OU naturally.
