MCSA Track, 70-270 or 70-620

I thought that I had to pass seven exams but I am only required to pass a total of four: 70-290, 70-291, (70-620 or 70-270 or 70-210) and one elective. Microsoft has allowed the ComTIA A+ and Network+ certifications as Specific third-party credentials that can apply to the MCSA certification of which I have. So that would mean I only need to take three more exams Whoa hoooo! I have been planning to take 70-270 after passing my 70-290 and 70-291 but I would like to take Exam 70-620 TS: Windows Vista, Configuring exam instead. I'm wondeing why I don't read about more people wanting to take 70-620 TS: Windows Visat, Configuring exam instead of 70-270.

Should I not take the 70-620 exam and plan for the 70-270 exam?

I would take the 620 and get the MCTS and be on a track to do the MCITP: EA down the road should you want to.

I did 620 since it applies to almost everything. Sounds like 270 is a big PITA too.

Definitely take 70-620. Unless specifically required by your job, there is no reason to sit for the XP exam anymore, when the Vista exam counts towards both MCSE and MCITP: Enterprise Administrator. If you don't have a preference/requirement either way, there is no benefit in taking 70-270 over 70-620. Keep in mind, while it only takes four exams to obtain your MCSA, it does require seven exams to get the MCSE. While the MCSA is a very good certification to have and you'll learn a lot while obtaining it, the MCSE is far more recognized in the IT industry.
