Quick DHCP question

Just a quick one this time, I have asked this before, but wanted to confirm this. You know how you configure DHCP with the 80/20 rule for redundancy, so let's say the subnet range used is 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254 and there's an exclusion range from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.20. So do I do 80% of 234 or 80% of 254? There was a question in Transcender that did 80% of 254? Is that right, and why? Cheers!

Either would work I think the key would be not to deplete the 20% if possible (or you might end up with 80/6 or something

according to Technet it's an 80/20 of the scope so presumably the whole enchilada. However, I don't think you typically do an exclusion range for server static IPs. In MS' example the first 10 IPs aren't in the scope.
