"The Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) survey says that the high-tech job market showed a modest 2 percent increase in the first quarter of 2004, but that the market is expected to shrink over the rest of the year. Nearly 89 percent of new jobs in 2004 came from non-technology companies."

Looks like it wont end soon. I sure wish it would. I have my Net+ exam tommorrow and would really like to use it somewhere other than home.

Well, in that case you'll all have to move to this side of the big pond.

Here in The Netherlands are plenty of IT jobs. Things have gone much better here since 6 months or so. Those with a good education (preferably a degree) and/or a lot of experience (specialists prefered) don't even need a work permit anymore, (so no hassle with greencards, visa etc.).

Cool ... can you point me to a few recuriters/companies in Oranje world? And oh, if it's not asking for too much, through a few of your influential friends, can you arrange for the next Euro Cup to be held there? That way I can watch a major soccer event LIVE during my ripe beer-loving crazy years

I'll have to consider that

. It would be easier if I wasn't married with a veritable zoo of pets, but since I love that situation, I guess I'm stuck for the meantime.

Don't look too much in to bullshit like this. There are always going to be compaines that need workers in the IT field.

companies are squeezing as much as they can ....instead of having full time 6 IT guys supporting 1000 users ...hire 3 temps at 18 hr to do the same work...but wait till the day when it rebounds ...where gonig to squeeze them like the booming late 90's
