Good -- you didn't lose study time trying to convince them the errors of their way. Plus it means better jobs and more/larger pay raises in the future for you. icon_lol.gif

    Good luck.

    Mine is in 4 weeks.

I've done with the textbook, now doing the CBT's this week, then going through the lab portfolios on the weekend (for about the next week), then taking practice tests, and reviewing.

Feeling very confident so far, and absolutely adoring learning about these protocols.

I've had people say that to me as well. Good job on staying the course man. At the end of the day you'll be the guy the dumpers all run to for help.

Well guys I failed it, it was expected in a way, but I'm happy. I got a 633...

    Break down:
    EIGRP 66%
OSPF 20% < a low score was expected
ISIS 28% < a low score was expected

    IOS 70%
BGP 36% < higher than expected
    multicast 50%
    IPv6 62%

The score for OSPF and ISIS were expected. ISIS was pretty much glanced over during my
review. I didn't put much time on it as I did the others. The same goes for OSPF, I was planning
on reviewing it for a 3rd time but due to time constraints I wasn't able to. BGP was higher than
expected as I was having difficulties during studies/review. In any case I am happy with the results.

I plan on taking the exam again in 2 weeks time, it should be enough to study the 3 low scored
subjects. I will also review the other subject and try to improve the score.

btw I'm happy because I wasn't expecting such a "high" score while working 2 full time jobs :)

    Don't worry dude

I failed my bsci exam twice! yes, twice!!

You will pass on the next attempt.
  • qplayedqplayed Member Posts: 303
I already had my self setup for failure....i just wasn't sure which topics :) I plan on passing
it the 2nd time around. That's my goal for '08. I'm proud to say that even though I failed, I
    failed on my own terms.

I can already hear my "friends" say, "see, should have used the ****, might have had a better
chance at passing". They were right, I could have passed using a ****. But it would've been the
easy way out. Life is not easy, one can only go so far with ****, sooner or later you'll be a
    **** yourself.

    OSPF time...

    I'll update when I hit round 2

Sorry to hear it, but it is a very hard exam. I am sure with some more studying and this practice run, you will put it behind you shortly.

Good luck on your next attempt!

i'm liking cbt nuggets. wish i'd come across them while doing the ccna. they're great especially when i'm too tired to read and make notes... like last night, just wanted an intro to eigrp authentication so watched that bit.

Whole lotta money for a whole lotta nothing. Unless of course you enjoy pointless analogies and verbosity. Money is better spent on a self-study guide that gives you more than just the bare essentials for passing the exam.

Better luck next time man. You'll get it. I was nailed on ISIS and BGP both so I would expect to have to know those both very very well.

I like the books, but sometimes it helps to watch the videos as an aid, but certainly not as an all or nothing guide to pass the exam.

My main source of material for this exam is the BSCI Cisco Press book, but the video's certainly help to get the basic's nailed down.
