    CCNP FAQ

The best is to get your work to pay for classes at an authorized Cisco Learning/Training Partner and use the official authorized courseware.

People who pay for their own certifications tend to go the self-study route (or check out the Cisco Network Academy courses at a local community college).

You pretty much want to get the Cisco Press CCNP Books.

There are the CBT Nuggets and Trainsignal CBTs if you're a video person.

The Chris Bryant Advantage stiff has a cult like following and seems to be good if you need a boost to your studies. I think Chris is the instructor (or one of them) for the (some) of the CCNP Trainsignal CBTs.

And don't forget hardware lab, emulator, or simulator to practice your hands on skills.

CBT Nuggets CCNP courses by Jeremy Cioara are really good. The Cisco press books are the most useful, though. I advise the quick reference sheets and the configuration command guides. They are what gave me the most practical knowledge.

How great. I managed to get the CBT Nuggets and also Cisco Press. So the next thing is to organise a lab. I have GNS3 and I guess that could be helpful too.

    Thanks alot for the help

I like Cisco Press books (Exam and study guides if possible), plus CBT Nugget videos and Trainsignal videos, plus lab time. I feel like that's a pretty good combo for self-study so far! :)

I have only used cbt videos, is it worth the extra cash on trainsignal if you have cbt in your opinion?
