Hey isn't there suppose to be a rule that if you take another professional exam it extends your CCNA as well as provides you for the next certification??

i.e. take a CCNP test?
that only applies if your ccna is current, if its already expired you have to recertify it first
if I say something that can be taken one of two ways and one of them offends, I usually mean the other one :-)
i've been focusing on the microsoft exams otherwise i would of started CCNP and do one of the exams but CCNA expire in march so not much time..guess i'll have to do ICND exam or whole thing again..
i'm thinking of doing Security or Voice specialized exam before it expires..any idea which one might be easier or which one would look better on my resume??

imo either will look good on your resume, for money id say voice is the hot one,
as to which is easier, thats your call, for me id say security but thats cos i know more about that area, however I'm currently working towards the voip route as thats the area that interests me most

Security if I had the option since that is in more demad. It is more generalized than Voice of course. Also could lead to a CISSP after five years if you haven't already have the requisite experiance.
well security it is since i don't have much time for studying..i'm studying for microsoft 70-291 at the moment, giving it my first attempt on monday coming..the faster i can get this done i'll be MCSA and more time to study the ccna security exam
The only issue for many IT Staff is after three years, their job might change and not required the or haven't touch the swithes for a long time. Renew can be a big issues for me and my staff.

Good luck, hopefully you can catch it in time!
Or do one of the New Specialized CCNA exams like Wireless, Security or Voice.
the prerequiste for the specialized exam is the CCNA
You can take any exam, in any order - no prerequisites there.
What triggers [re]certification is another topic.
yep very true, but given the op was asking abou renewing his NA I merely pointed out this would nto renew it

suren327,
What is the expiration date for your current CCNA certification?

That is what I was saying. Wouldn't the Specializations renew your CCNA?
