Loopback address

Guys
In the real world are routers setup with a loopback address as a virtual interface to manage the router?

    Yes I always use them. I do see a lot of routers that don't don't have them, but they are usually routers configed from a template that dosen't have a loopback.

    Thanks for the info, I heard the data guys at work talking about the Cisco 10k's loopback address so I wanted to make sure I understood it correctly.

    Keep in mind they are used for other purposes besides management as well.
