WOW $115 in NJ, this is like $140 in FL?

And actually, in IT we need to change jobs every 3 years or so to gain more new experience ! I found this job ad strange

I wouldn't be surprised if I'm viewed as a job hopper. Something has always happened to keep my length of employ at 1 year or less.

I wouldn't consider someone with a few three-year stints to be a job hopper. That's the longest I've stayed at any of my jobs. I thought the norm was to put in at least two years to avoid being seen as a job hopper.

I've been quite loyal to my employers, with over 5.5 years service at the moment.

I was recently told I could not have a pay rise (even though I am about 25% down on what I can earn in the local area and 75% or more in the London area) and that "job hopping" is the way to get the big money, loyalty sucks

Actually the major pay increase I've seen is usually when people change their jobs !

Yeah, I always thought that stints of less than a year were bad, but apparently this job poster wants someone who latches on for the long haul, regardless of whether it's a good thing for the employee?? And ditto on getting major pay increases by switching jobs...unless you were totally underpaid to begin with and got a major promotion, you're not likely to get any significant pay increase unless you to another company. There ARE exceptions (like if you worked out a review/increase schedule before hire or if you are able to demonstrate why you deserve a large increase), but they're few & far between.

The whole concept of settling at a company and being taken care of forever is a bygone ideal. It just doesn't happen any more. If you want to get paid you have to job hop.
