Interesting !

I agree that we have to get whatever our employers have to offer, yet we still should have our own plans.

I believe one has to learn whatever there that can be learned from his job, and get certified on whatever technology he's dealing with.

The "You get what you pay for" rule of self-investment makes me feel better about the sizable debt I've incurred for my Masters degree.

Haha....that brings chills to me as well. I am not enrolled in one yet but definitely plan on getting one sometime. From what I have seen, in my workplace, it is very well worth it.

It is certainly well worth it to get a degree if you employer will pay for part/all of it. I didn't work at a place like that when I got my degree, but I do now. Should I get a second Masters degree just because someone else will pay for it? Hmmm...

Heck yeah! why not? but then you might have to stay with them for number of years depending on conditions they put forward for paying your schooling, but if you plan to stay there for a number of years then sure go for it. I would take up it if I had such an opportunity.

if you can get MBA, it's very useful. It will open doors for managerial positions, even if u dont want them now, u might get sick of technical work and want to climb the ladder up to management thus an MBA will be invaluable
