a question about ospf
In this config, R5 will not have a route to 10.1.3.0 255.255.255.0; i understand that R3 will not readvertise lsa type 3 originated by R1 from area 0 back into area 0; but whats with R4? Isn't R4 going to get the route from R3 and send it to R5? Can someone clarify this up a bit; what happens with R4 and why R5 doesn't end up with a route to 10.1.3.0 with next hop at R4?

Look into the default-information originate and default-information originate always commands when working with OSPF

You have a partitioned area 0 so I would remove the link between R3 & R5 and see if the inter-area route propagates to R5, is it getting injected into the area by the ABR?Studying for CCIE and drinking Home Brew -
