Need Help picking VPN device to connect branch to main

Hello

We have a client who has a Cisco CM/Unity system installed. Unfortunately, the relationship between the consulting group who installed it and the client went south, and we are left to maintain it. I have been doing primarily windows work for the last couple of years, and need some advice.

The customer is opening a small branch office, probably four phones or so. They would like to use the cisco phones and connect them back to the system in the main office. I am presuming this would be an occasion for a site to site vpn tunnel, as opposed to setting up the Phone Proxy on their ASA 5510. Is this correct? If so, what device would you recommend for something of this size? Any other advice is of course welcome, and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Site to site VPN should do the trick. Assuming that the 5510 is in the main office, something like an ASA5505 would work rather nicely in the branch. If you’re looking for remote site survivability in the event that the WAN link is down, or need local connectivity to the PSTN, then you’ll need something a little beefier (like an ISR).
