Here it is ladies and gentlemen,

Right now its mainly or the BSCI. I know I could have gone the dynamips path, but real equipment won't hurt.

4 x 2621 XM

8 x WIC-1T

1 x 2900XL

I still need to get some decent switches, but not right now.

It cost me about $750AUD

Looking good. Consider a couple 3550s and a 2950 or two. Do the 2621XMs support MPLS? If not, look into a couple 3640s.

I don't think I've ever seen a laptop with PS/2 ports and DVI before icon_lol.gif

Oh, the Cisco stuff is cool too...

The 2600XM series doesn't support MPLS if you are running version 12.4 IOS. The feature navigator on Cisco's site will tell you that only the 2650XM and the 2651XM support MPLS with 12.4 IOS but this isn't true. None of the 2600XM series routers support MPLS with version 12.4 IOS. The 12.3 Enterprise images for the 2600XM series routers do support MPLS so you could load a 12.3 Enterprise image onto the router to get MPLS support.

    Excellent choice.

I need to get shot of my antiquated 2500 Routers, but I did BSCI with GNS3

Not sure what equipment I need for the remaining CCNP exams though (ISCW and ONT)

Nothing beats having your own home lab, i always looked at it as a work in progress :)

My home lab has been growing over the last 4 years.

Very impressive. Are you sure that's not a snapshot of part of the server room where you work?

    :)

Ya, that looks like Cisco carpeting on top of their raised floor. ;)

Hope that room's soundproofed. How big's your HVAC?

LOL u guys have some crazy labs ... my CCNP lab is just my laptop running dynamips lol. I do have a 2900XL that I got for free but I dont use it (found the fan too loud). If I need to see some "real world" configuration I do have access to a few hundreds devices through work VPN though. :)

People often get MPLS on 2600XM's confused.

Only the 265x XM series supports MPLS in 12.3 Adv IP Services or greater. 2610XM-2621XM does not support MPLS period.
There is no place like 127.0.0.1

It's not listed in the feature navigator, but I just tried 12.3 Adv Ent on my 2620XM and it does support MPLS. Pretty cool. Thanks tim100.

Yeah, the more I look at it the more it looks like a home.

Very well done, though. The wires look well organized and are neatly done.

Mine run everywhere, but with wire markers (and CDP as a last resort), I can usually keep track of things.

HMM according to the wife its around $500 a quarter,

i dont run the full lab all the time only if there is something special like BSCI labs , most of the time i have diffrent labs on diffrent parts of the labs.

I even use the ISDN sim at the side to give me more options.

i just like doing the learning hands on.
  • qp81qp81 Member Posts: 85 ■■□□□□□□□□
waht hw are you using for the ISDN sim?
  • SirsamonSirsamon Member Posts: 221
I have a 2 port ISDN sim i bought when i was doing CCNA a few years ago. Lets make use of the BRI cards most people put routers they sell on ebay :)

    sirsamon,

What kind of power do you have at your house??
You must have 3 or 4 generators, a couple of hundred solar panels etc to power all that!!
    :)
    nice kit!!!!
