Need some help in making a Router and switch choice?

Hello everyone,

I am putting my CCNP/CCIE lab; together I was hoping to find some help please.

4 - Cisco 3700 Series 3725 Router with 128MB Flash / 256MB DRAM with 2 FastEthernet

    Not as outrageously priced as some other kits out there.... If you priced the pieces on eBay you could probably get that for under $1500 -- at least based on what I've seen recently. And that includes the shipping.

    That was in US Dollars, right?

    Yes US Dollars, I have looked on eBay.

    I was looking at a system on eBay, that had 10 routers 6 of them where 3640’s and 2 3550’s switch’s and I think a 2950.

    Then I started reading Cisco’s new CCIE requirements for the new lab. The Lab consist of 3825 routers and 3560 switches.

    The 3725 routers are the best alternative to Cisco’s 3825 router, well a 3560 is a $1.500.00 switch. A 3560 is a 3560 icon_thumright.gif

    What features do you believe you need from 12.4T that you can't find in 12.4? Do not bother with 2950's, but also please don't pay $1500 for a $1000 switch.
