I installed sendmail - completed default configuration and configured dovecot/pop3s
When i go to my client wkstn to test using fetchmail and mutt i can pull down the mail
from the server but i cant send email to other servers or receive from other servers. All firewalls/wrappers are turned off. I know this worked briefly at one point because i have a test message from my dns server on my smtp server.
I missed a step somewhere or i mistyped something. Anyone experienced this before.

Check sendmail for the localhost setting and change it to fit your needs.

actually thats the first thing i do after i install sendmail so thats not the issue.
i wonder if i need to modify /etc/mail/access to specify the network i want to have relay access. -

Add an OK line and see if it works. I can't remember if you have to add that or not.

okay..i had to edit /etc/mail/access file
and edit sendmail.mc DAEMON_OPTIONS('Port=smtp, Name=MTA')dnl line
alls working..
