Router rip issue

Hi all,
Can any one pls tell me that is it necessary to put the ip address of the network while defining a route for rip

eg
A) Router(router-config)#network 130.1.1.0

Router(router-config)#network 130.1.0.0

if the fastethernet ip addr of my router is 130.1.1.1

then which of the command best suites my network, Acc to me ans should be the second option as the ip addr belongs to class B

If i'm wrong can u pls give an appropriate explanation for that

the network statement is classful meaning you can put it in as net 130.1.1.1 and when you look at the running config it will be classful 130.1.0.0
