Does anyone use Transcender (or equiv) for pro-level exams?

I don't see nearly as much about Transcender in the Cisco forums as I do in the MS forums. I also see a lot of people being caught off-guard by the content in their first pro-level exam.

I was just curious if people are using these practice exams, and if so, how well do they cover and relate to the material on the actual exam?

I use them as preparation for the exam in the week leading up to my actually taking it. In general, if you can do well on the Transcender's, you can probably pass the exam. The only exception, imho, is BSCI. Normally, if I can hit 90% or above regularly on the Transcender, I'll do well on the real exam, but trusting the BSCI Transcender will earn you the equivalent of a mental kick to the stomach when you go sit down to take it

However, of the legit practice exams available, Transcenders are prolly the best.

I'm surprised that the TechExams hall monitor hasn't yelled at anyone yet! Normally, he's all over this stuff, telling you not to mention tools of this sort. I use MODERATED to get myself "directed" towards the mentality and question style for Cisco exams. Taking ONT tomorrow.

The mods usually don't have a problem with legit study materials. Transcender is well know to be legit, they're not a brain ****, and in alot of cases, their exam is actually harder than the real thing.

The other site you mentioned.. well, that one, I'd expect to see a rebuke on.

Jay... the difference is that Transcender doesn't ask ACTUAL exam questions... hence, it's a LEGIT practice exam.

MODERATED doesn't "direct" you to the mentality/style of cisco exams... it gives you the actual questions. AKA, cheating.

That's why Mike/Admin will be all over your tool, and not Transcender. Which is why you had to fool with the name to get it to post... whereas Transcender works on its own.

Well either your trying to be funny or....

If your the latter, use certguard to verify your study resources. You will see transcender is a legitimate study source, while the other one you mentioned is a brain ****.

We don't have a problem with members here discussing LEGITIMATE Study Material. Transcender, Boson, PrepLogic, MeasureUp, etc all hire smart people to create questions based on the published exam topics.

The materials that you like to use to **** on the exsms are the real exam questions stolen by dirt bags and violate the Vendor's Non-Disclosure Agreements and usually copyright laws. Those dirt bags then market them like crack to school kids -- meaning they'll lie their asses off and claim it's legal or boast they have the best **** on the street or claim that all the cool kids are doing it -- depending on what their customer needs/wants to hear. For a few bucks they can buy a new domain name and clone one of their various web site formats -- the popular all-you-can-****-site all the way down to a specific vendor/try and look legitimate site. They even have different price points for the same stuff for different "shoppers" -- the cheap bastard sties for, well, cheap bastards and the high priced boutiques for idiots who think a **** works better when they pay more it.

While some people do get sucked into the ****/**** world by accident -- most honest people realize the error of their ways after their first "taste" and go into rehab. But then there are the morons who either figure out they are CHEATING and keep CHEATING, or know from day one that they are CHEATING, and there even seem to be CHEATERS proud of their CHEATING....

TechExams.Net (and

) has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for **** and CHEATING. Using **** for what ever lame reason is still CHEATING -- NO Discussion.

couldn't agree more when it comes to the BSCI. Still haven't passed. Took a break and just trying to learn the materal instead of passing a test. Find it easier to study. Hopefully after a few months i'll start taking exams again.

....is it really worth it? or more of an insurance/assruance/mental booster kind of thing? which doesnt' hurt...jsut the pockets

In what way is Transcender lacking w r t BSCI? Would Boson be a better choice for BSCI or is it equally inadequate?

I can't speak for Boson, as I've never used their products.

Most of the time Transcender is harder than the real exam, so if you've got a good comfort curve with it, you can go into the exam having a pretty good idea you'll pass.

For BSCI, the test questions just aren't up to snuff with the difficulty of the exam. In this case, the exam is harder than the Transcender, which is why I say to take it with a grain of salt. It is still a pretty good prep, and the Transcender guys are almost as sneaky as the Cisco guys in the way they ask their questions. If you back your prep with a boatload of lab time (and I mean a boatload, I don't mean you spend 4 hours a few days before you go into the exam, I mean boatload as in I spent enough time that I could do it while talking on the phone and watching TV without having touched Cisco material for a month boatload) you should be fine.
